Frans Lanting is a photographer, author, and speaker. He has documented the natural world from the Amazon to Antarctica. His work has been commissioned frequently by National Geographic, where he served as a Photographer-in-Residence. His influential work appears in books, magazines, and exhibitions around the world. Frans is an ambassador for the World Wildlife Fund and has received numerous prestigious awards for his work, including the Wildlife Photographer of the Year’s first Lifetime Achievement Award. His Royal Highness, Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, inducted him as a Knight in the Royal Order of the Golden Ark for his contributions to conservation.

Christine Eckstrom is a writer and videographer. She is the author of Forgotten Edens, and as a staff writer at the National Geographic Society, she has contributed stories to National Geographic Books, National Geographic Magazine, and Traveler. She earned a Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Award for Best Magazine Article on Foreign Travel for her Traveler story “The Last Real Africa.” Christine has teamed up with Frans to produce a number of acclaimed books. As a videographer, she has produced stories for the National Geographic Channel, PBS, the Smithsonian Institution, and the Annenberg Space for Photography.

Frans and Christine are partners in life and work. They promote understanding about the Earth through images and stories that inspire wonder and engagement with our living planet. Through their work and alliances, they create leverage for conservation efforts ranging from local initiatives to global campaigns.
