THE BEST SPEAKER EVENTS IN THE BAY AREA
Keeping Audiences on the Edge of Their Seats Since 1990
The MPSF Speaker Series began with a simple idea: bring nationally recognized voices to the Bay Area to inspire and engage the local community. It started in San Mateo with our original Peninsula Speaker Series—born from a shared desire for thoughtful, intellectual entertainment close to home. What began as a single-stage experience quickly expanded, finding enthusiastic audiences in Marin and San Francisco. Today, we proudly call three venues home, where world-class speakers continue to take the stage, spark meaningful conversations, and connect people through the power of ideas.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
ABOUT THE MPSF Experience
ONE TICKET GIVES YOU ACCESS TO THE WHOLE SEASON
We’re a subscriber-based community, which means one ticket gives you access to the entire season of inspiring events. As a subscriber, you’ll also enjoy early access to future seasons and other exclusive perks. Ticket prices vary based on your seat selection and venue.
YOUR EXPERIENCE,
OUR PRIORITY
Our team takes pride in providing a personalized experience for our subscribers, ensuring you get the most out of every speaker event and feel truly connected to the series. Whether it’s helping you choose the right seat or answering questions throughout the season, we’re here to make your experience five star worthy.
SEVEN BRILLIANT EVENTS THAT WILL LEAVE YOU INSPIRED
Enjoy live speaker events from November through May, each one presenting a dynamic range of ideas and innovations to enrich our community. Can’t join us in person? As a subscriber to any of our venues, you’ll have access to a live Zoom stream, so you never miss a moment, no matter where you are.
-
Can I buy individual tickets?Tickets are sold by Series only. Tickets to individual events are not available. There are separate lectures in the Series, and a Series ticket includes all lectures. Why not? Selling tickets as a package enables us to advertise the Series all at once and reduces the costs of presenting these notable speakers. If each event were marketed and ticketed individually, tickets would be twice as much as they are now. For the same reason, there are no Senior or Student discounts.
-
What is your refund policy? All sales are final. Refunds are not available. In the rare event that a speaker is unable to appear as scheduled for any reason we will find a speaker we deem to be a suitable replacement.
-
Are the events available to watch via Zoom if I want to attend remotely? All ticket holders have the option to watch a livestream of the in-theater events. The Zoom livestreams are broadcast from the theater in San Mateo – please see our calendar page for dates. The Zoom events must be watched live on the date they are presented – recordings will not be available.
-
Is disabled seating available?Yes! Please email us at mpsf@speakerseries.net to reserve.
-
Is the series appropriate for children?Depending on the subject matter some events are appropriate for ages 10 and up. The series is not appropriate for younger children.
-
What should I do if I lose my ticket?Email us at mpsf@speakerseries.net and we can have your ticket reprinted and waiting at will call the night of the event.
-
What is the timing for each event?Doors open at 6:30 PM. The lecture begins at 7:30 PM and ends at 9:00 PM.

I love how responsive you are to the members. I feel like you are truly invested in providing us with what we want as opposed to what works for the organization.
